More Questions and Answers about Colon Hydrotherapy:
What are toxins and why do we have them in our bodies?
Toxins can be produced in two different ways. The first is called Exotoxin which are either ingested or inhaled. Some examples of this are from pollution in the air, water, cigarette smoke, alcohol, medications, food additives and even from household chemicals. The second is considered an Endotoxin, which is in fact from a process called Autointoxification. This process is actually occurs when our own body begins to poison itself in a response to protect itself from harm. When these toxins invade they are able to circulate throughout our entire being and create illness and disease in their path.

The Colon is not the only organ of elimination, so what makes the Colonic so important?
Yes, you are right, there are seven channels of elimination - liver, lungs, blood, kidneys, skin, colon and the lymphatic system. During a Colonic - as much as 15 -35 gallons of water are used to gently flush the colon. Through breathing, massage, pressure points and suggestion - the Colon Therapist is able to loosen and help the body to eliminate more toxins and waste material than any other short term technique. Although all the other channels work well, the Colonic has been found to be the most effective way of ridding the body of poisonous materials and getting you back on the road to continued health and vitality more quickly.
What is the difference between Laxatives, Suppositories and Enemas?
Everything has its proper place and those choices offer no substitute for a Colonic. Enemas are useful to empty the rectum (lowest 8-12 inches of the colon). Suppositories accomplish the same task. Laxatives, especially herbal laxatives are formulated for constipation and to build up the tone of the colon muscle. However, the Rolls Royce of colon cleansing will be without question always Colon Hydrotherapy.
What will Colonics do for the Colon?
It will take at least a series of 6-8 Colonics before you will start to see the premium benefits of the procedure. However, some people notice differences from the very first session! So imagine if you are one of those people - just how wonderful you will feel by the end of the series? So go ahead and experience it! Colonics will perform the tasks listed below:
1.) Cleanse the colon- toxic material is broken down so it can no longer harm your body or inhibit assimilation and elimination. Even debris built up over a long period is gently but surely removed in the process of a series of Colonics. Once impacted material is removed, your colon can once again begin to work as it was meant. A Colonic is essentially a rejuvenation treatment.
2.) Exercise the colon muscles - the build up of toxic debris weakens the colon and impairs its function. The gentle filling and releasing of matter from the colon improves peristaltic action ( the natural muscle contractions and relaxation of the digestive system walls).
3.) Reshape the colon - when problem conditions exist in the colon, they tend to alter its shape, which in turn causes more problems. The gentle action of the water, coupled with the massage techniques of the Colon Therapist, helps to eliminate bulging pockets of water and narrowed, spastic constrictions finally enabling the colon to resume its natural structure.
4.) Stimulate Reflex Points - every system and organ in the body has a corresponding reflex point located in the colon. A Colonic stimulates these points, thereby affecting the corresponding body part in a very beneficial way(similar to Reflexology)
How do I prepare for my first session and following sessions?
It is important to consume adequate amounts of water and fiber daily to encourage the release of fecal matter. Since your abdomen will be massaged, it is a good idea to stop eating and drink lightly(or fast) 2 hours prior to your session. Evacuating a bowel movement just before will also save time and permits more to be accomplished.
How will I feel after the session?
Most people report that they feel the best they have felt in a long, long time. You will probably feel lighter and enjoy a greater sense of well-being. Following the session, you may resume normal activity with absolutely no side effects. Immediately after, you may be a little lightheaded or even chilled from the toxic release during the session. However, this feeling will quickly resolve itself and you will feel fantastic. Some individuals report - Feeling of wellness, clearer and sharper vision, flatter abdomen, reduced bloating, increase in mental clarity, and better quality sleep.
It is advised that you eat lightly immediately following your treatment. A clear broth soup such as a vegetable soup, a nicely colored salad, raw veggies and fruit either whole or juiced are good and sensible suggestions. After an hour or so eat a moderate amount of whatever seems gentle and nourishing to you. Eating a meal that normally would upset you, is not a wise choice during a cleanse.
